The Forest Glen and Oaklands neighbourhoods are located in Central Burnaby and are mostly made up of quiet residential streets.
Oaklands is a designated suburban multi-family area with an emphasis on low density residences such as townhomes and and single-family houses. It overlooks Deer Lake Park, and several paths lead from the community down to the walking and cycling trails that meader through the park and around the lake.
Most of the Forest Glen neighbourhood is made up of residential streets with single-family houses, but the further south you go, and the closer to Kingsway you get, the more this transitions to townhouses and eventually highrise condominium towers.
For shopping and dining, the Metrotown neighbourhood is directly south of here and offers hundreds of shops, restaurants and services.
